Jaeckel Opus 45

The Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts

  Atlanta, Georgia

For a number of decades, a few of the premier builders of mechanical action pipe organs have been diligently pursuing an answer to the question, “What is a Bach organ?” – Dan Jaeckel being one of these builders.

“Although the organ featured in this recording allows the organist to play much of all the organ literature in an authentic manner, its original specifications were developed with the literature of Bach as this organ’s essence and foundation.  The final specification then expanded this original concept to encourage and support the performance of much more literature.  My study of Andreas Silbermann’s Alsatian organs in particular has given much impetus to this broader concept."

                                                                                                Daniel Jaeckel
